     BARBECUE SAUCE

Category   Sauces
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
6 bottles barbecue sauce (I prefer Open Pit regular)
2 pounds dark brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 cup dry mustard
2 large onions finely chopped
1/4 cup ginger
2 large green peppers finely chopped
3 tomatoes chopped
3 stalks celery finely chopped=

1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
3 tsp. lemon pepper
2 tsp steak seasoning

Instructions
Heat barbecue sauce in 5 quart pan. Saute onion, green pepper, and celery in butter. When about half done add tomatoes. Set aside when vegetables are tender.
Add spices to barbecue sauce and mix well. Add brown sugar about 1/2 cup at a time and stir well so it doesn't stick and it mixes in.
Add the vegetables to the barbecue sauce and allow to simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes stirring frequently. When done allow to cool for a few minutes then pour back in the original bottles the sauce came out of.
Place in pint jars and can for 20 miutes under boiling water. allow to cool label and put away for barbecues.
