Bring large pot of slightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta and cook until al dente (about 8 min). Drain. In a large skillet, brown onion and ground beef over medium heat and drain. Add spaghetti sauce. Simmer 15 mins
Preheat oven to 350 degree. Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Layer as follows- 1/2 of the ziti, provolone cheese, sour cream, 1/2 sauce mixture, remaining ziti, mozzarella cheese and remaining sauce mixture. Top with grated parmesan cheese.
Bake for 30 mins or until cheese is melted.
This makes a huge amount! This is a great meal to make to share with others. Instead of a 9 x 13 dish just split into 2 casserole dishes. This freezes well too. (I like to use a little more provolone and mozzarella than the recipe states.)
