     Amazing Apple Pie

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None
Servings   8
Preptime   30 minutes

Ingredients
2 9-inch pie crusts
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 tbs flour
1 tbs cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
6 granny smith apples peeled & sliced
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tbs cider vinegar
1 tbs of vanilla
1 tbs lemon juice

Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Keep sliced apples in a bowl of water with lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown. In a mixing bowl combine sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and cider vinegar. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and cornstarch to form a paste. Add water, vanilla, and previously combined ingredients, and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer. Add apples to pan and let simmer for approximately 5 minutes.
Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill crust with the apples (mounded slightly) and syrup. Reserve some of the liquid to brush over crust. Cover with a top crust or with a lattice work of crust. Gently brush the remaining syrup over the top crust.
Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.
Serving Suggestions
Let cool completely before serving or pie will be runny, nuke it in the microwave later to warm. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired!
