Put the chicken in the slow cooker. Add a cup of water and a bouillon cube.
Butter a 9 x 9 pan.
Melt a 3 to 4 T of butter in a skillet with 1/2 of a chopped onion. Saute till tender.
Tear up the bread into a mixing bowl and saturate with broth. It should be soggy. Add the chicken and more broth. Add the melted butter and sauted onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until warm and brown on top.
