2 1/2 cups milk (can substitute half and half for all or part of milk)
1 1/2 Tablespoon margarine
2 Tablespoons cocoa
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 egg beaten
dash of salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
pie crust (either traditional or graham cracker)
Instructions
Mix 1/2 cup milk, cocoa and cornstarch ( I use a shaker to mix)
Mix 2 cups, milk, sugar, salt, and beaten egg in medium sauce pan. Add cocoa mixture. Heat over medium to medium high, stirring constantly, until filling is very thick. This may take 15 - 20 minutes. Pour filling into prepared pie crust.
Allow pie to cool then store in refrigerator. Add whipped topping prior to serving.
