     Bread Pudding from Ida-Haven

Ingredients
3 T. softened butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 t. vanilla
3-1/2 c. milk
8 c. cubed bread
1/2 c. golden raisins
2 T. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
 
Golden Sauce-
3 T. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. heavy cream

Instructions
Beat butter and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Slowly stir in milk. Toast bread slices in oven until lightly browned. Break up and place in greased 9x13 pan.
Pour milk mixture over bread. Let stand 5 minutes. Sprinkle raisins over mixture if desired.
Combine cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle on top. Make golden sauce by melting 3 T. butter and 1/2 c. sugar together in saucepan. Stir in heavy cream and boil gently for 10 minutes, until slightly thickened. Drizzle 1/3 of the golden sauce over the top of the bread pudding.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Serve warm with remaining sauce.

Note- 1 loaf of thick Pullman bread is 16 cups bread cubes
