Open jar of pickles and drain them in a collander. Rinse pickles well under cold running water.
Cut the pickles into chunks and put back into rinsed jar. Slide cinnamon sticks down the sides of the jar - north, south, east, and west.
Boil water, sugar, and vinegar until sugar is dissolved. Pour hot brine over pickle chunks. Screw on the original lid and let them sit in the fridge for 4 days before eating.
