Heat oven 375. Combine shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat on med until well blended. Add egg. Beat until just blended.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture at low speed, mix until just blended.
Roll into 1” balls,place 2” apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly in crisscross pattern with lines of fork.
Bake 7-8 minutes, or until just set and beginning to brown. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to wire rack to finish cooling.
