Make the glaze. Brown the sugar in a large skillet until it is golden brown. Add the hot water and bring to a boil. Set aside.

Mix eggs and sugar. Bring the whipping cream just to a boil. Temper the hot whipping cream into the eggs and sugar mixture.

|
Pour the carmel glaze into the bottom of the pan. Pour the cream mixture over the top of the glaze.

|
|
Put pan in a water bath about half way up the side of the pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 300 degrees for 90 minutes.
