Cream crisco and sugar.
Add eggs.
Make paste with red food coloring and cocoa.
Add to creamed mixture.
Add vinegar and baking soda.
Mix well.
Put beaters on low and add flour and salt.
Add buttermilk and then vanilla.
Bake in 2, 9 inch pans at 359 for 30 minutes.
Icing-
1 cup milk
3 Tbsp. flour
Cook to smooth. Paste and cool.
Cream in electric mixer with 1 cup butter and 2 cups powdered
sugar. Add cooled paste slowly while beating.
Add 1 tsp. vanilla
