     Manitoba Pickles

Ingredients
6 large cucumbers, sliced
3 large onions, sliced
1/4 cup salt
3 cup vinegar
3 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 1/2 tsp dry mustard
2 tsp tumeric
1 T cornstarch
 

Instructions
Sprinkle salt over cucumbers and onions and let stand overnight. Drain. Rinse.
In large pot add vinegar, sugar and water. Boil. Add cucumbers and onions and cook 10 minutes.
Dissolve mustard, tumeric and cornstarch with cold vinegar to made a smooth paste and add to mixture. Cook until thick and smooth.
Ladle into clean sterilized jars. Wait one month before serving.
