     Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients
1-1/2 c flour
1-1/2 c sugar (turbinado, white, brown or combo)
3/4 t salt
1/2 t cloves
1 t cinnamon
1/2 c vegetable oil
1/2 c buttermilk
1 c pumpkin
2 eggs
 
1/2 c nuts (optional)
pinch mace (optional)
3/4 t baking soda

Instructions
Mix sugar and oil. Add eggs and mix. Blend in pumpkin and buttermilk.
Mix together dry ingredients, then add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in nuts if desired.
Bake at 350 in 8 X 3 inch bread pan for 45-60 minutes until tester comes out dry.
You can substitute soured milk for the buttermilk. Combine milk with 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice to curdle.
