     Bechamel Sauce

Ingredients
2 cups milk
1 T chopped onion
1/8 t ground nutmeg
1 sprig or 1/8 t thyme
1/8 t white pepper
4 T butter
6 T flour
 

Instructions
Combine milk, onions, nutmeg, thyme and pepper in saucepan and bring to boil over moderate heat. Set aside. Melt butter, add flour and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Add milk mixture; blend thorougly. Cook to thicken.
