Combine sugar, margarine and milk in heavy saucepan; bring to full roiling boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. (Mixture scorches easily)
Remove from heat; stir in chocolate until melted. Add marshmallow creme, nuts and vanilla; beat until well blended. Pour into greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into square.
Variation - substitute 1 cup creamy or chunck style peanut butter for chocolate pieces; omit nuts.
