Combine yolks,1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice and salt. Cook in double boiler til thick, beating constantly with beater til you can see beater marks in mixture. Add gelatin which has been softened in cold water. Stir til dissolved. Add lemon peel and cool til partially ser. Beat 1/2 cup sugar into egg whites and beat til stiff. Fold into the lemon mixture. Pour into cooled shell. Chill. Top with beaten cream
