     Asparagus Rice Oriental

Ingredients
1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
3 T vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 t grated fresh ginger
2 c chicken broth
2 t soy sauce
1/2 t sugar
1 c rice
 

Instructions
Cut asparagus diagonally into 2 inch lengths, keeping bottom ends separate.
Heat oil in wok or dutch oven. Add garlic, ginger and asparagus bottoms. Stir fry 1 minute.
Add remaining asparugs and stir fry 2 minutes. Remove aspragus and set aside.
Add broth, soy sauce and sugar. Bring to a boil, stir in rice. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 15 minutes. Add asparagus and cook 5 minutes more.
