Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 lg. egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
4 tbs. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
 

Instructions
Mix 4 tbs. sugar and 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon in a bowl and set aside. Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour gradually. Turn out onto cutting board to finish mixing flour in. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight.
Preheat oven to 375. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar. Place 2 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheets.
Bake 10-11 minutes or until golden brown. Slide parchment paper off of cookie sheet to let cool.
