Combine softened butter with both sugars, mixing until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy. On low speed of mixer or using a wooden spoon, gradually stir in flour mixture.
Stir in coconut, chocolate chips and pecans.
Bake at 325°F on ungreased cookie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not over cook. Cookies should be light brown and a little soft to the touch. (Took 14 minutes in our oven)
