Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Add minced garlic and sausage, saute 1 minute (drain if desired). Add water, broth and beans, bring to a boil. Stir in kale, black pepper, red pepper, and salt(if needed), bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes or until kale is tender. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice.

I found a turkey sausage with garlic and cheese, it was really good. I've also used portuguese sausage. You can use bagged kale but I bought kale, take it off the tough stems and cut in bite size pieces, I had more than 4 cups but added it all, it cooks down and is yummy.
