Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Peel and slice apples; place in a well buttered 8x8 inch pan. Sift flour, sugar and baking powder. Add egg. Mix lightly with a fork until mixture is crumb like.
Place on top of apples. Pour 1/3 cup butter on crumb mixture. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Bake 40 minutes.
