     Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
1 cup soft shortening or margarine
1-1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2-3/4 cup flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp sugar
 
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, and eggs. Sift together the next 4 ingredients and mix with shortening mixture. Refrigerate dough.
In small bowl, mix cinnamon and 2 Tbsp sugar. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts and roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 400 for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
