     Green Beans and Carmelized Onions

Ingredients
4 Bacon slices
2 large Onions, cut lengthwise into 1/2 inch thick wedges
2 lbs fresh Green Beans, trimmed
3 T Cider Vinegar
4-1/2 tsp Brown Sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
 

Instructions
In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels. Drain fat, reserving 2 T drippings. Crumble bacon, set aside. In reserved drippings, cook onions over medium low heat until tender and golden brown,
Meanwhile, cook beans in large saucepan covered with water. Bring to boil. Cook uncovered 8-10 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain. Stir in vinegar and brown sugar into onions, add beans. Cook uncovered over medium heat 1 minute. Add bacon, toss. Season with salt and pepper.
