     Eucharistic Bread

Category   Breakfast - Brunch
Sub Category   None
Servings   4 loaves

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups white flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
2 T. margarine (shortening or butter may also be used)
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup water

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the flours, salt and baking soda. Mix well. Cut butter/margarine into the flour mixture. Dissolve the honey in the water; add this to the flour and butter mixture.
Stir until all the ingredients are blended well. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes. Divide the batter into 4 equal parts. Using your hands, pat each ball of dough out on a greased cookie sheet. Form the dough into rounds about 1/4 inc thick. The loaves need to be patted thin, they will rise as they bake.
Use a knife or pizza cutter to score the loaves in each direction. Mark the bread deeply but don't cut all the way through. Score approximately 1/2 inch in each direction.
Bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 15 minutes until top is pale brown and the bottom is golden brown. Do not over bake. Store the loaves in foil or plastic after the breads cools.
