1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pan
1/4 C plus, confectioners sugar, plus more for dusting
1/2 t pure vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven 325 degrees. Pulse walnuts in food processor until finely ground. Put in bowl, work in flour and salt.
Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla until pale and fluffy. Slowly add walnut mixture, beat until just combined.
Rub the bottom of a 8' tart pan (or cake pan)with butter. Put dough in pan, press the dough evenly into pan. Cut dough into 8 wedges. Prick all over with a fork. Bake until golden brow and firm in center, 30-35 minutes, do not over bake. Transfer to wire rack, re-cut into wedges, prick with fork again. Let cool slightly. Dust with confectioners' sugar.
Words 4 good eats----we were supposed to have this for desert last night, but we were too full to eat it then. I tried some this morning for breakfast. I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing in one sitting. It doesn't look like anything special, but watch how fast it disappears. ymmee! G
