     Hummus

Ingredients
1 can garbanzo beans
1 clove garlic, sliced or crushed
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 to 4 tablesppons tahini (sesame paste- from a jar, not a can)
1/2 tsp cumin powder
generous 1/4 tsp salt
dash of cayenne pepper
food processor
 

Instructions
Drain garbanzo beans and reserve the liquid.
Put all the ingredients in a food processor plus about 2 tablespoons of the reserved liquid from the beans.
Process for 5 minutes until very smooth. Add more liquid if needed. Adjust salt and seasoning.
Three variations- Before processing add 1)1 tablespoon fresh oregano 2)2 tablespoons fresh chives 3)1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves
Serving Suggestions
Serve with raw veggies or pita chips
