1 t. cinnamon
salt
4 medium granny smith apples
16 oz jar, old fashioned, chunky applesauce

Instructions
Peel and cut up apples and place in large bowl. Add applesauce and lemon juice. In another bowl combine, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 T. flour, cinnamon and a dash of salt. Add dry ingredients to apple mixture and mix well.
Place 1 crust into a 9 inch pie plate. Add apple mixture and generously dot with butter. Roll out second crust and cut into 1 inch strips. Gently lattace the strips over the apples, flute the edges and trim off any extra.
In dry bowl, mix 3 T. flour, 1 T sugar a dash of salt and 1 T room temperature butter. Cut together with fork to make crumb topping. Sprinkle over pie.
Preheat oven to 425 and bake 10 min. (Make sure the oven is at 425 before you put the pie in.) Reduce temp to 350 and bake for 45 min. or until bottom is done and top is golden brown. DO NOT OVERBAKE!
