Cut Italian sausage into 1 inch slices. Heat 1 TBSP oil in large soup pot, brown sausage on all sides. Remove sausage, add ground beef, and brown.
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and 4 cans of water (use tomato sauce can). Blend completely.
Add sausage back in, flavor with spices to tast, at least 4 TBSP each. Add in 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Simmer over low heat for 3 hours, stirring often so that bottom of pot doesn't stick or burn.
Fill another pot with water 3/4 full. Add a little olive oil. Bring to a boil. Break pasta into thirds, add to boiling water. Stir often so pasta doesn't stick together. Boil 4-5 min., drain, and top with sauce.
