     Dutch Apple Pie

Ingredients
1 ready made graham cracker crust
1 large egg yolk, slightly beaten
5 1/2 c sliced, cored, peeled cooking apples
1 T lemon juice
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
3 T flour
1/4 t salt
1/2 t cinnamon
 
1/4 t nutmeg
3/4 c flour
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
1/3 c butter or margerine, room temperature
Omit lemon juice if apples are tart

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375. Brush bottom and sides of crust evenly with egg yolk. Bake on baking sheet until lightly browned about 5 minutes. Remove crust from oven. Combine apples, lemon juuce, 1/2 c sugar, 1/4 c brown sugar, 3 T flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well and spoon into crust. Mix remaining flour, sugars and butter with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly. Sprinkle over top of filling. Bake on baking sheet until top is golden and filling is bubbly. Should be about 50 minutes. Cool on wire rack. serve at room temperature.
