Fill a large pot with water. Choose a pot that crab legs can fit in easily without being too crowded. Add salt, and cover. Heat on high until water is at a rolling boil. If you do not have a pot large enough, you may break the legs at the joints to fit a smaller pot.

Add crab legs to boiling water. Turn heat down to medium-high, and continue to cook for 3-4 minutes.

Prepare melted butter- Put a half stick (4 TBSP) in microwavable dish, cover loosely with plastic wrap or wax paper (or a paper towel). Microwave for 20 seconds, check, and repeat until butter is melted. If microwave is not available, heat butter in small pan on LOW heat until melted.

Drain crab legs and serve crab legs with the emlted butter in a dipping bowl. Use nut crackers or small forks to crack and remove meat.
