     Bow -Tie Pasta with Peas, Ham and Cream

Ingredients
12 oz bow tie pasta
4 tablespoons butter
½ med –sized yellow onion, diced
3 small cloves garlic
¾ cup frozen peas
¼ cup water
6 ounces cooked ham, cut into thin strips
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
 
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
1. Cook pasta according to directions. 2. Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons butter in a medium skillet over medium low heat. When the butter starts to bubble, add garlic and butter and cook 3-4 minutes until translucent, stirring often. 3. Add the peas and water to the pan and cook until water is almost gone and peas are tender. Stir in the ham and cook 2 minutes. Add the cream; bring to a low simmer and cook 5 minutes. 4. Drain pasta; pour into cream and ham. Stir in remaining 2 tablespoons butter until melted. Stir in the cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
