Tear bread in chunks. Place evenly in a well greased 13x9 casserole. Melt butter and pour over bread. Beat eggs-add milk, salt, mustard, pepper and chives. Pour over bread. Cube cream cheese and spread over mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Refrig - covered overnight. Bake covered in preheated 325 oven for 1 hour or until set. Uncover last 10 minutes of baking time to brown. Serves 10-12 or more. Add sliced tomatoes to if you want--before baking.
