1/4 c warm water
1 Tbl yeast (1 pkg)
1 c warm milk
2 Tbl sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
3 1/2 c flour
vegetable oil for deep frying

Mix warm water and yeast; set aside. Mix milk, sugar, butter, salt, and egg. Add 1 cup flour, then yeast mixture. Gradually add 2 1/2 cups more flour.
Stir well and knead for 5 mins. Let raise for 1 hour. Roll out and cut out circles with a glass. Let rise for 30 mins.
Fry in hot oil, turning once.
