Lightly grease a cookie sheet; set aside, Melt 1 cup of the semisweet chocolate pieces, the unsweetend chocolate, & butter in a heavy medium saucepan, stirring constantly. Transfer to large mixing bowl; cool slightly. Meanwhile, stir together flour, baking powder & salt; set aside. Add eggs, sugar, & vanilla to chocolate mixture. Using a wooden spoon, beat until combined. Stir in flour mixtur, remaining chocolate pieces, & nuts (optional). Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheet.
