Meanwhile, for glaze, in saucepan, combine cherry preserves, red wine vinegar, corn syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
Cook and stir till boiling. Reduce heat; simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in almonds.
Reserve 3/4 cup of the glaze.
