     CABBAGE BURGERS

Ingredients
FILLING-
1 1/4 LBS hamburger
1 MED head cabbage shredded
1 C diced onion
DOUGH-
3 1/2 C flour
1 C milk
1/2 stick butter
 
1 pkg yeast
2 TBL sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs beaten

Instructions
FILLING- Cook and stir hamburger in deep skillet over medium heat about 10 minutes. Add cabbage and onion, salt and pepper to taste. Steam until tender
DOUGH- Scald the milk add butter. stir until melted. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast. Let set to soften about 10 minutes. Add sugar and eggs. Beat in as much flour with a sp[oon as possible. Then knead, adding more flour as needed, until smooth and satiny. Let rise till double in an oiled bowl, punch down and let rise again.
Rool out on floured board to 16 X 16 inches. Cut into 4 inch squares. Divide the filling, about 2 spoons each. Bring the corners to the top. Pinch all edges to seal and place seam side down on oiled pan.
Let rise about 5 minutes,brush top ;with melted shortening before baking. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes
