1 8oz package cream cheese, softened

2 C (16 oz) sour cream
|
|
2 cans (6 oz each) crabmeat, drained , flaked OR
|

2 C flaked, imitation crabmeat
|

2 C (8 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
|
|
4 green onions, thinly sliced
|
|
2 round loaves unsliced sourdough or Italian bread
|
|
Assorted crackers
|

Instructions |
|
|
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream, mix well. Fold in crab, cheese and onions.
|

|
Cut the top third off each loaf of bread and carefully hollow out bottoms, leaving a 1 inch shell. Cube removed bread and tops.
|
|
|
Spoon crab mixture into bread bowls. Place on baking sheets. Place bread cubes in a single layer around bread bowls.
|
|
|
Baked uncovered at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until dip is heated through.
