     Minnesota wild rice soup

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup raw wild rice
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup dice celery
1 cup diced carrot
1 cup diced onion
About 4 1/2 cups chicken broth
3 tbsp cornstarch
3 cups milk
 

Instructions
In frying pan, melt butter over medium heat and saute the wild rice, almonds, celery, onion, and carrot for two to three minutes. Add the soup and simmer over low heat for 1 1/4 hours. Thicken with the corn starch in 1/4 cup milk,and add to soup. Add in remaining milk and stir until hot.
