     Peppermint Brownies

Ingredients
1 box fudge brownie mix
1/2 c butter
1/4 c water
2 eggs
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
1/2 c butter
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
1 tbs milk
 
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/3 c whole milk
1/4 c butter
12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
1 c powdered sugar

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients for brownies, pour into 9 x 9 pan, bake for 50-55 minutes.
For the peppermint frosting- beat together 1 cup powdered sugar and the softened butter in a medium bowl with an electric mixer. Mix in another 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, then add the milk and peppermint/vanilla extracts. Mix for about 1 minute to make the frosting smooth. Add additional powdered sugar if the frosting is too thin and light. Spread frosting over cooled brownies and put in fridge to firm the frosting.
For the chocolate frosting- bring whole milk and butter to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Pour the chocolate chips into a heat safe bowl. When the milk and butter comes to a boil, pour the mixture over the chocolate chips and let sit for a few minutes. Add vanilla, and then whisk until smooth. Use an electric mixer to beat in the powdered sugar until frosting is smooth. Spread over white frosting.
