Place butter in 9by 13 pan and melt in oven. Once melted whisk in brown sugar. Place pineapple slices on top of brown sugar butter mixture. Place half of a cherry, cut side up into each pineapple slice. Mix together cake mix according to package directions. Pour over pineapple slices and bake according to package directions. Let cool and then flip onto serving platter.
