     Cream Cheese Bars

Ingredients
2 1/4 c. all purpose flour- divided
1 c. butter softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cornstarch
4 eggs
16 oz. pkg. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
 
Cream cheese topping

Instructions
Combine 2 c. flour , butter and 1/2 c. sugar and cornstarch with 2 forks until mixture resembles a fine crumb. Press mixture evenly into an ungreased jelly-roll pan , bake at 350 degrees. for 18 min.
Beat eggs, brown sugar and remaining 1/4 c. flour , baking powder, and vanilla at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. stir in walnuts and spread ontop of crust.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min. Let cool in panon a wire rack, spread with cream cheese topping and bake for 30 more minutes. . cut into bars.
Cream Cheese topping- Beat together 8 oz. cream cheese, 1/2 c. butter, and 1 tsp. vanilla, with mixer until creamy, gradually add powdered sugar blending well. Makes 3 1/2 c.
