Instructions
Over the years my brother and I have dreaded making food for ourselves over summer. We both loved to cook; we just never had the right ingredients. One thing we always had was Top Ramen. After a couple of days, eating the same chicken flavored Ramen, we got very bored of it. We decided one afternoon to take Ramen and turn it into a full course meal. When thinking about it, I get the feeling of the noodles melting on my tongue with a slight crunch on every bite. It is what saved our summer appetites. Watching the steam rise from the bowl only made me want it more. The dark red color of the Saracha hot sauce contrasting the green of the scallions made the dish look all the more amazing. Afterward, all I could do was sit back and relax with a full stomach.
The first step is to take the white or brown rice and start cooking it in a rice cooker. Then your going to want to cook the Ramen noodles in boiling water until al dente. Once the noodles have cooked strain them in the sink getting all the water off of them. While letting the noodles sit in the strainer you need to get a sauté pan and pour a thin layer of vegetable oil in it and let the oil heat up. Once the oil heats up dump all the noodles into the oil and let it fry. Once you have poured the noodles in the rice needs to be added. Once rice and noodles are together mix it together. Next pour in the 2 packets of flavoring from the Ramen package. Also, you need to add the diced garlic and about a tablespoon of Saracha Hot Sauce. While everything is being mixed and is frying add 2 teaspoons of Sesame Oil, the desired amount of sesame seeds, and a small amount of Wasabi paste. Finally, add the diced scallions and mix it well. Your meal is now ready to be served.
This meal saved my brother and I from eating the same exact thing everyday. We have many different variations with the meal. He makes it with tofu, since he’s vegan. I make it with Shrimp. Once I even fried chicken and added it. There are so many possibilities for meals with Top Ramen. Also it’s extremely cheap so you save money with a full stomach.
Serving Suggestions
