     Cowboy Coffee Cake

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup sour milk
 
2 beaten eggs
Instructions
Mix flour, sugar, salt and shotening until crumbly, reserve 1/2 cup. To remaining crumbs, add baking powder, soda, and spices; mix well.
Add milk and eggs; mix well. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8 x 1/2 rond pan; top with reserved crumbs.
Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes. Serve warm. Makes 2 cakes.
