     MaryMichelle's Turtle Party Bread

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
1 round unsliced sourdough bread...... 1 lb
1 lb monterey jack cheese, sliced
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup green onions
2-3 tesps poppy seeds

Instructions
Cut bread lengthwise and crosswise. It will look like a checkerboard when you are finished. Insert cheese in cuts. Combine butter, green onions and poppy seeds. Drizzle over bread.
Wrap in foil by doing the following-First nestle the bread in the center of the foil. Take opposite ends of foil and pull them up to the middle. Then press overlapping seams together like you are hemming a dress. Next fold and press the free ends together. It will look like a turtle.Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Unwrap and continue to bake until cheese melts. For variety use Pepper Jack Cheese or any favorite to compliment your menu. Tomato based sauces work well for a little zip dip on the side. I enjoy marinara or salsa.
