Scramble sausage, drain and set aside. Pan-fry chicken; dice, salt, and mix with sausage.
Meanwhile,bring to boil chicken broth, stewed tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Add meat and rice, cover, and reduce to a simmer.
Add onion,corn,and okra and simmer until thickened,stirring occasionally. If desired,add some reserved okra liquid to thicken quicker. When done, add spices in small batches to taste.
This is better the next day, and will thicken and get spicier overnight. Reheat in original pot, adding one cup water or chicken broth, stirring often. This recipe also freezes well.
