     Fudge Frosting 'Bob Alden Special'

Ingredients
4 heaping Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
dash salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup butter
 

Instructions
In medium saucepan mix together cocoa, milk, salt and sugar. Bring to boil. Continue boiling until soft ball stage. 235F on candy thermometer. Remove from heat add vanilla and butter.
Using wooden spatula, lift and stir continually until fudge starts to thicken and loses its gloss. IMPORTANT NOTE-The lifting and stirring takes time, don't lose patience. Also, do not attempt this recipe on a high humidity day. It will not set up right.
Pour over favorite (cooled) cake.
