2 cups unbleached flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
6-8 tablespoons sugar
teaspoon salt
teaspoon cream of tartar
cup butter, chilled
cup milk, room temperature

Stir dry ingredients in Cuisinart. Cut in butter. Mix in milk, only until dry ingredients are blended. DO NOT OVERMIX. Form into a ball and gently pat out on floured board to inch thickness. Cut into biscuits and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 425 approximately 10 minutes.
