Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lightly grease a 6-cup muffin pan.
In a medium bowl, combine muffin mix, sour cream, cheese, milk, and salt, stirring until mixture is smooth. Spoon batter evenly into prepared muffin cups.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Let cool in pans for 5 minutes. Remove from pans. Serve warm with butter, if desired.
