     Bran Muffins

Ingredients
1 cup crisco
2 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 teas salt
5 cups flour
6 cups bran cereal (Fiber One)
5 tas baking soda
2 cups boiling water
1 quart buttermilk
 
If desired raisins, nuts, dates

Instructions
Cream Crisco and sugar to a very large bowl. Add eggs, mix well.
Add salt, flour, bran cereal and baking soda. Mix gently.
Add water and buterrmilk, stir until mixed fairly well (DO NOT USE MIXER). Place into muffin tin and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
Store in fridge in covered container. Will keep for up to 6 weeks. Cook them as you need them. DO NOT RESTIR THE MIXTURE!
