     Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients
3-5 pounds potatoes (Idaho)
2-4 cups milk (depends on size of potatoes)
2-4 cups water
3 garlic cloves, chopped
3/4 tsp. salt, pepper
3 bay leaves
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
 

Instructions
Put water and milk, salt and pepper and bay leaves in a large saucepan. Peel and slice the potatoes and add to pan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, cook for 4 minutes until tender, not falling apart. With slotted spoon transfer to baking dish. Line with 1/2 the potatoes, sprinkle with half of the cheese, 1/2 of heavy cream. Repeat, end with cheese.
Bake for 375 for 1 hour or until golden brown. Can make a day ahead. If you do, to reheat- 350 degrees for 1/2 hours.
