     Double Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup milk
4 squares unsweetened baking chocoloate
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs, separated
1 tsp almonds
5 cups confectioners sugar
2 cups - 2 tbs cake flour
 
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup margarine
2 whole eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbs hot milk

Instructions
Combine brown sugar, milk, and chocolate in microwave and heat until chocolate is melted. Cool. Add butter and margarine to cooled choc. mixture and mix thoroughly. Add 2 egg yolks, vanilla, almond, and cream. Add 4 cups powdered sugar gradually, creaming until well blended.
Combine 2 cups of the chocolate mixture above (use rest for icing) with 1/2 cup margarine and mix well. Add whole eggs and 2 egg whites. Cream until fluffy. Add flour, baking soda, salt, alternating with buttermilk. Pour into 9 in greased and floured pans (or use wax paper). Bake at 350 for 30 minutes (do not overbake). Leave in pan 5 mins, remove and cool on racks. Add remaining 1 cup powdered sugar and hot milk to remaining chocolate mixture. Beat until consistency of icing. Frost cake.
